'Learning and Achieving Together'
‘Learning a foreign language is a liberation from insularity and provides an opening to other cultures. A high-quality languages education should foster pupils’ curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world.’
At Hobletts Manor Junior School we aim to provide an engaging and relevant introduction to the study of a modern foreign language. We develop the ability to participate in informal conversations about themselves and more formal conversations in the context of more practical situations. As a school we teach topic vocabulary alongside an understanding of grammatical structures to provide a solid foundation for further study during secondary school. We use the Education City resource to support.children's pronunciation and vocabulary development Through the process of learning about other cultures, we aim to excite the children about their place as global citizens while valuing their own national identity.
