'Learning and Achieving Together'
‘Geographical knowledge, understanding and skills provide the framework and approaches that explain how the earth’s features at different scales are shaped interconnected and change over time.’
At Hobletts Manor Junior School we aim to provide a geography curriculum that inspires in our children a curiosity and fascination about the world of which they are a part. We aim to equip our children with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the earth’s key physical and human processes. As a school we aim to extend our children's knowledge and understanding beyond their local area, including within the UK, Europe and North & South America. We encourage them to compare and contrast different areas, identifying similarities and differences.
As well as developing knowledge and understanding, we aim to support the development of skills associated with the subject for example map reading.
