Learning and Achieving Together

'Learning and Achieving Together'

'History helps pupils to understand the complexity of people’s lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups as well as their own identity and the challenges of their time.’

At Hobletts Manor Junior School we aim to provide a history curriculum that will enable our children to gain a coherent knowledge and understanding of Britain’s past and that of the wider world. Through a range of opportunities, including trips and theme days, we aim to inspire and challenge our children's curiosity so that they want to learn more about the past. As a school we encourage and provide opportunities for our pupils to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop perspective and judgement. We aim to develop in our children a chronologically secure knowledge and understanding of British, local and world history and establish clear narratives within and across the periods studied.
