'Learning and Achieving Together'
‘Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity.’
At Hobletts Manor Junior School we aim to engage and inspire our pupils to foster a love of music and develop their talent as musicians, increasing their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. We teach our children to sing and play musical with increasing confidence and control. Through the use of Charanga our children are provided with a range of opportunities to develop their understanding of composition, organising and manipulating ideas within musical structures and reproducing sounds from aural memory. As a school we aim to encourage our children’s interest and love of music by giving opportunities to listen to a broad range of musical genres branching across the globe and from varying time periods.
Half termly assemblies provide opportunities for classes to showcase their learning. Participation in the Young Voices Concert at the O2 Arena and Royal Albert Hall Gala provide once in a life time experiences to sing as part of a large choir.Links with the Hertordshire Music Service to create further musical opportunities, including learning to play a musical instrument and perform within the local community.
