'Learning and Achieving Together'

Whilst PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) education remains a non statutory subject the DFE states that Personal, social, health and economic (PSHE) education is an important and necessary part of all pupils’ education.

'All schools should make provision for PSHE drawing on good practice.'

Relationships and sex education (RSE) is an important part of PSHE education. Relationships education is compulsory for all primary school pupils..

At Hobletts Manor Junior School we recognise how PSHE education can help our children

'connect and apply the knowledge and understanding they learn in all subjects to practical real-life situations while helping them to feel safe and secure to fulfill their academic potential.'

We use the Jigsaw scheme of work as a basis from which to plan, tailoring our teaching to our pupils needs 'to equip them  with a sound understanding of risk and with the knowledge and skills necessary to make safe and informed decisions'.
