Hello everybody - It’s the weekend!

What a busy week we’ve had! We want to say a huge well done to all of year 3 children. Assessment week can be tricky, but everyone has done extremely well and worked to the best of their ability.

In between tests, we have had great fun. In our Science lesson, we were busy measuring our shadows throughout the day. You’d be amazed how much your shadow changes from morning to afternoon. We couldn’t believe the difference. Did you know that when the sun is high in the sky, our bodies, which are opaque objects, block out the light, and that’s what creates the shadow?

In PE this week, we have been busy practising for sports Week. We are all very excited to be wearing our PE kit to school all week and wearing our sunhats. Our teachers also reminded us to put on plenty of sunscreen in the morning.

We are extremely proud of our efforts in Art this week. We have finally made our Lotus flowers. They are super! We just have to wait a few days for the clay to dry now, before we paint them.

In PSHE we started our lesson by reflecting upon our previous lesson on what ‘Puberty’ means, and revisiting the explanation for this again. We then discussed the different changes we go through from a child to an adult when we go through puberty. We used changes cards to identify whether we thought they happened to a male, female or both, and placed our cards in these places to reflect our thoughts, we then reflected at the end whether we agreed with where all the cards were. Then, we talked about whether we can control all the changes that happen to us during puberty, and discussed that we cannot control all the changes and we can feel a lot of different feelings about these changes. We completed our own body sheets to place cards in. a ’I can control’ and ‘I cannot control’ section on our sheets and then shared our answers.
