We have had a very busy and fun week!

In Maths this week we investigated rotational symmetry. We created patterns with a rotational order of 1,2 and 4 using Numicon boards and pieces. We found out that rotational order means how many times a pattern will be exactly the same when it is rotated.

In English, we have continued with our work inspired by 'Odd and the Frost Giants'. This week we have looked at the descriptive language that is used to show how small and weak is compared to the Giant and adapted the sentence, 'It is a strange sensation to talk to a being who could crush you like a man could crush a baby mouse.' We also looked at the boast the giant makes, 'I outwitted Loki, I bested Thor and I banished Odin.' We wrote our own boasts about what we had done to the gods to conquer Asgard.

In History this week, we learnt a little more about the daily lives of the Maya. We found out about what they ate, their homes, their clothes and what they did for entertainment. In RE, we learnt how Buddhists and Christians express their faith through art. We looked at different artwork and thought about what it might represent. In PSHE, we had a talk from our Mental Health Support Team (MHST)  worker, and her colleague Mish - who talked to us about the move to secondary school, what we are looking forward to as well as our worries. They gave us lots of advice, tips and techniques to help us if ever we are feeling overwhelmed. In Science, we learnt about the circulatory system, even creating our own and in Music, we continued with our cornet lessons led by Mr Eccles.

We have also been rehearsing for our end of year play, 'The Pirates of the Curry Bean', which we are performing to our families on the 15th July (1.30pm) and 16th July (6pm).

Next week in Mathematics, we are going to learn about special properties of number and in English, we will be carrying on with our work inspired by 'Odd' and his heroic journey. We will also be continuing with our learning across the broader curriculum.

Have a lovely weekend, we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
