This week in English, we started our new heart-warming book, The Misadventures of Frederick and we identified the features of persuasive letters. We also wrote a review about the book, using lots of hyperboles (exaggeration)! In Maths, we learnt about proportion and scaling and solved some problems involving fractions and percentages.

In Science, we learnt why the sun appears to move across the sky throughout the day and what causes day and night on Earth. In PSHE, we discussed what the advantages and disadvantages of online communities and thought about whether there should be an age limit for children using mobile phones with internet access. In Art, we started our new Unit about the artist Kandinsky. This week we evaluated some of his work and found out some facts about him and how he liked to work.

Next week in English, we will identify the differences between formal and informal letters and have a go at planning and writing some persuasive letters of our own and in Maths, we will learn to add and subtract time and then solve some time word problems.
