Team Turquoise 2025/26.
Your class teachers are Mrs Vipond and Miss Smith.
Your teaching assistants are Mrs Buck and Mrs Rogers
It has been a busy week in Team Turquoise!
In Maths, we found out about the classic Maths puzzle, 'The Tower of Hanoi'. We tried to solve the puzzle in the minimum number of moves and changed the number of discs. We then recorded our solutions in our Maths books, and then we made our own versions using pencils, paint-brushes and rulers (amongst other things) from our classrooms. The models were amazing!
In RE, we found out about mandala patterns. We found out how they are created and what they mean to Buddhists. We then created our own beautiful mandal patterns.
In PSHE, we found out babies develop in the womb and what the developing embryo can and can't do in the womb as it develops into a baby. We also discussed what life is like when a new baby joins a household! We also thought about what happens when starting a new school and what we should do if we feel pressured to change our behaviour to fit in with others. We all agreed that we also be true to ourselves and stick to our values rather than changing to make new friends. We ended the week by thinking about ourselves and how we appear to other people. We all agreed that being seen as a good person is much more important than outward appearances. We then thought about how we wanted to be seen as an adult and all agreed again, that the most important thing is to be seen as a good person.
We have also been busy rehearsing for Year 6 play, 'The Next Big Step' and we are so impressed with their hard-work and enthusiasm to make the play amazing!
The performances will be on:
Tuesday 14th July at 1.30pm
and
Wednesday 15th July at 6pm
Year 6 PE Days are Monday and Thursday
Please come to school in PE kit on these days.
