    This week has been an amazing week for everyone who went to PGL and a fun and busy week for everyone who stayed ar school!
    This is what we have planned for next week ...

    Next week in Maths, we are learning how to use scale factors to increase or reduce the size of a shape. We will also be looking at imperial measures, what they are, what they measure and their approximate equivalent in metric measures, as well as how to convert between them. We will also be learning about the different types of averages and how to calculate them.We will also be looking at how to estimate by rounding and also by finding half-way points.

    In English, next week we will be carrying on our writing about planets. We will be focussing on our use of conjunctions and how to vary the position of the main clause. We will also be learning to use expanded noun phrases and relative clauses to add extra detail to our writing.

    In Art next week, we will be starting work on our London Landscape and including a single point of perspective in our work. In History, we will learn about the Blitz in World War 2 and the impact it had on the people who lived in the affected cities. In Science, we will learn about refraction, what it is and how we see its effects.

    wc 5.10.26: Art - this week we made dragon eyes using clay, paints and spray paint!

     

    wc 5.10.26: PE - this week we practiced our basketball skills including shotting and dribbling!

    wc 28.9.26: Science - this week, we investigated how the size of shadows change when the shadow is moved nearer or further away from the light source.

    wc 28.9.26: Art - this week we learnt how to draw a city scene with one point perspective!

    wc 21.9.26: RE - this week we looked at how Buddhist's actions are influenced by the Noble Eight-fold Path!

     

    wc 21.09.26: as scientists we used opaque materials to make shadow puppets concluding that opaque materials are best to make shadows as they do not let light through!

    wc 14.09.26: as scientists we used data loggers to measure how much light travelled through different materials in Lux.

     

    wc 14.09.26: as artists we used different media to extend a London landscape and decided which we liked best.

    wc 07.09.26: as scientists we found out how to use mirrors to see around corners!
