It has been a busy week for Team Turquoise!
This week in Maths we have revised strategies for adding and subtracting units of time, and we have learnt how to interpret bus and train timetables. In English, we have started writing our 'Blackberry Blue' inspired fairytales using the conjunctions for, yet and nor and the past perfect forms of verbs. We have described our heroes and have introduced our villain.
In Science, we created branching diagrams to sort living things – we started with 5 animals and then challenged ourselves to increase it to 10! In PSHE, we gave each other compliments about our team working skills and reviewed our contribution to a team task, and in RE, we made a Mantra flag inspired by the Buddhist faith that had words to describe ourselves inside. In Computing, we continued blogging and read others' blogs and left comments to show what we liked about their. In Geography, we found out what a biome is and found out what the different biomes are on planet Earth and what animals and plants live in each. In French, we described objects inside a bedroom using prepositions and in Music, we carried on being inspired by 'La Bamba'.
Next week in Maths, we will be learning about imperial units of measurement and how to increase and reduce the size of shapes using a scale factor. In English, we will be finishing our fairytales. We will also be carrying on with all of our other subjects and topics.
Year 6 PE Days are Monday and Thursday
