Welcome to Year 3 and Team Amber 2026/27

Next week in English, we will continue to plan for our Non-Chronological Reports about 'Jobs' as we prepare to write our first draft, adding subheadings as we do so.

Next week in Mathematics, we will be continuing our learning on measures. We will focus on how many mm in a cm applying what we know as we measure a variety of objects.

As scientists, we will be zooming into different images of plants, using our observational skills to help us identify each image and our reasons why. We will also record any similarities and differences between the images and identify which one we think was the odd one out and justify our reasoning

Next week in D.T, we will continue our Christmas D.T project, by designing Christmas gift boxes to take home. We have already explored a variety of gift boxes, so now we will be deciding which design to make over the coming weeks.

Team Amber PE days are Tuesday and Wednesdays.

Each Monday we visit the library and each Friday we look forward to receiving Reading Records as we look to celebrate reading at home.

Week beginning 2.11.26

This week in DT we explored different shaped Christmas boxes. We had a go at putting them together, attaching ribbons and deciding which designs we like in preparation for making our own over the coming weeks.

Week beginning 19.10.26

This week we enjoyed a cross-country event at Adeyfield School. The children did a fantastic job showing how much stamina they have for running. We finished our week off recapping everything we learnt in RE this half-term. Here are a few of our finished posters about Islam.

Week beginning 12.10.26

In PSHE this week, we wrote cards to 'Sam' to share how we would help him to feel respected in the classroom and how we would include him in Team Amber. We used our class charter to help us establish how we show respect in school.

In English, we have loved writing our own version of Kit Wright's The Magic Box. Below are some examples of the excellent poems that have been written in Team Amber this week.

Week beginning 5.10.26

This week, we went on a nature walk around the school grounds. We used our senses to understand what we could see, hear, smell and touch, ready to bring back into the classroom to use as a stimulus for writing sentences, using adjectives.

Week beginning 28.9.26

In Science, we measured how well our plants had grown and discussed what plants need for growth after observing the results. In art, we got to go underneath our tables to pretend we were in a cave, the lights were off and we all had to look up with our pencils and pastels to create cave art. Some fantastic images were produced and most importantly, we all had fun!

We have been closely observing our science experiment and noticing any changes that have occurred so far. We've been surprised by the results! As historians, we have been looking at our very own Hobletts timeline to understand key points in time.

As scientists, we have changed different variables in our experiment (water, light and heat) to observe how they affect a plant's growth. In English, we ordered emotions from least happy to most happy to show how Mini Rabbit was feeling during the story.
