Welcome to Year 3 and Team Amber 2024/2025

Well, what a scorcher of a week we have had, and yet, our lovely Year 3s have continued to work hard and remain focused on their learning.

In English, we loved writing our own Winnie-the-Pooh adventure stories, editing and improving them until we were sure that we had included all the success criteria. We were so proud of our achievements that we created a whole class book with illustrations to give to our new teacher. Next week we are looking forward to creating our very own adventure stories.

In maths this week we have been learning how to round decimal numbers to the nearest whole number, solve mix measure problems involving scaling and ended the week learning how to draw and interpret bar charts. Next week we will be revisiting some of the topics covered over the year.

In our RE lesson this week we recapped ultimate and non-ultimate questions. We then talked about aspects of life and death that people find puzzling, such as whether God exists, what happens when we die; whether there is a heaven etc. We learnt that sometimes religion could offer answers to ultimate questions.

In computing this week, we continued to build upon our PowerPoint skills, adding transition to our slide show. We had great fun.

We have all been very excited to complete our Lotus flowers in Art. They are fabulous, and we cannot wait to bring them home to show you. We are going to evaluate our work next week.
