Wow!  What a week we have had!  The weather has been really kind to us and we have been able to enjoy so many different sports.  On Monday, we were able to perform a contemporary dance, showing different emotions.  We were taught some football skills, tried to balance balls on our backs, then finish with a kick, and we all balanced a spinning football on our fingers!  For many, the highlight was learning some skateboarding skills.  We were able to balance on one side while half of the wheels were up in the air, then return the side to the floor; to jump up and turn around on the skateboard and our best trick was to flip the upturned board over while jumping up and landing on it!

On Tuesday, we discovered how much sugar is contained in some of the treats we enjoy, and were horrified to learn how many teaspoons were in a packet of Haribos!  The Skipping Ninja session was great fun. Lots of us were able to skip for a long period of time, and we incorporated crossovers and double and single bouncing.  Our calves knew we had had a good workout the next day!  Street Dance was very cool, and we mastered several moves that we were able to put into a routine.  Our favourite move was Muscle Man!

Wednesday saw us racing around the school grounds finding our orienteering targets where we competed individually, then in pairs.  Cheerleading was done as a year group on the field, and we were taught a routine using lots of different moves.  We finished the day with a dance session that showed us the difference between ballet and jazz moves.  We were taught different moves in each style and then put them into a sequence.

Thursday brought archery, so we were able to improve our skills and aim at different colours on the target to see how accurate we were.  The basketball session, led by Hemel Storm, had us trying to score baskets to win a 3-in-a-row game.  Some of us were very good at aiming!  Tennis taught us how to score a match, and we played 3 different games across mini nets.

Friday was sports day, where we cheered, raced, aimed, threw, kicked and lifted.  We loved the silent disco. What a day!  Thanks to all the parents who supported us, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

We have had a great week, back to normal next week.

PE days are Monday and Wednesday each week.
