    Team Topaz 2025/26

Your Class teacher is Ms Reid

Your Teaching Assistants are Mrs Sides, Mrs Botha and Mrs Hajzeri

We have had a very busy week in Team Topaz!

In Maths, we have been learning about ratio and how to use a bar model to find the answers to ratio questions. We have also had more practice at calculating with measures of distance, mass and volume and practised converting measures to the same unit before completing calculations.

In English, we have started work on a new book, 'The Children of the King' and have been investigating emotive vocabulary to use in a persuasive letter, persuading a mum to take in an evacuee.

In Science, we investigated what happens to the brightness of a bulb if the length of the wires is increased. In PSHE, we discussed power in relationships and how sometimes that power can be used in a positive way and sometimes in a negative way and what we should do in that situation. In RE, we found out about karma and how Buddhists live their lives to accumulate good karma. In Geography, we found out about natural, geological, renewable and agricultural resources and how they are used.

Next week in Maths, we are finding out about angle rules for triangles, quadrilaterals and polygons as well as finding out how to find missing in angles in complex diagrams. In English, we will be writing a formal persuasive letter inspired by 'The Children of the King'.

We will also be carrying on with all our other subjects across the curriculum.

Have a lovely weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
