It has been another busy week in Team Topaz!
In Maths, we discovered the classic Maths problem, 'The Tower of Hanoi'. We used a computer simulation to try and solve the 3-disc and 4-disc problem and then thought about how we could record the solution to be able to share it. After discussion and debate, we decided on a method and recorded our solutions.
In English, we have been continuing our work on the book, 'Oceanology' and wrote a diary entry about our first day aboard the ship. We introduced characters to our adventure: the Captain of the ship and the mysterious professor, who we are assistant to in the story.
In Science, we started to look at the strange and wonderful systems within the bodies of different types of animals and compared them to those of humans. In RE, we found out what a mandala is and what it represents to Buddhists. We then created our own mandala designs. In PSHE, we found out how a baby develops over the nine months from conception to birth. We thought about our own first memories and then thought about what impact a new baby has on a family when it arrives.
Next week in Maths, we will be investigating compound measures and in English, we will be carrying on with our Oceanology adventure and encountering a sea-monster or two! We will also be carrying on with our other curriculum topics.
We hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday!
